Crazy October
Things are gonna be quite unpredictable there. Really pray that there won't be any serious cases.
I'm 23 yrs and 5 days old today! Cut a total of 4 cakes this year.. Thank you to all who took the time and effort to prepare the surprises and gifts and cards and cakes!
Yesterday during BS, we broke our record again! only 3 people this time. Me, Ben and Jasmine. Don't know what happened to the rest. No one called to say that they won't be coming or anything.
15 more days to my practical test!! Woo HOO!! Hope no crazy drivers will be on the road during my test. Pray that my engine won't stall!! Haha.. Driving License! Here I come!!

90km/h
First time I drove out of the test route area. On the straight roads of Changi Point, I was tempted to just go beyond the limit. The limit given by my instructor of course. Haha.. So I just press on the accelerator and went all the way to 90.
I nearly couldn't take my practical test before even failing the test. I was driving at about 70 on gear 4. I was on the 2nd arrow of the junction and suddenly the light turned amber. I was too close to the light to stop, so I just accelerated without checking if there is any speed cam. Phew! Thank God there isn't any! If not I will be fined $200 and my instructor $100 for dashing thru red light. Now just the fine, I will not be able to sit for any driving test for the next 1 year! Then all my effort will be gone.
On leave tmr.. But don't know why I am feeling rather moody now. Tot i was just hungry, so went to cook myself a packet of instant noodle. But after eating, the moody feeling is still there. Haiz.. No idea what's wrong with me.. =(

Ryan Cabreba - True
I won't breathe
I won't move till you finally see
that you belong with me
you might think
I don't look
but deep inside in the corner of my mind
I'm attatched to you
mmmm
I'm weak
it's true
cause I'm afraid to know the answer
do you want me too?
cause my heart keeps falling faster
[chorus]
I've waited all my life to cross this line
to the only thing thats true
so I will not hide
i'ts time to try anything to be with you
all my life I've waited
this is true
you don't know
what you do
everytime you walk into the room
I'm afraid to move
I'm weak
it's true
I'm just scared to know the ending
do you see me too?
do you even know you meant me!
[Chorus]
I've waited all my life to cross this line
to the only thing thats true
so I will not hide
its time to try anything to be with you
all my life I've waited
this is true
I know when I go
I'll be on my way to you
the way that's true
[chorus]
I've waited all my life to cross this line
to the only thing thats true
so I will not hide
its time to try anything to be with you
all my life I've waited
this is true

2D 1N Malacca Escape Trip
1 funny incident happened when we just passed the Johor gantry. A police man stopped our car and asked for Andrew's driving license, addressed him as "Mr Leong". Out of nowhere, he told us that we are stopped for speeding at a speed of 123km/h, while the speed we are travelling at is 110km/h. In the end the police just mumbled a few words which we don't understand and allowed us to drive off.
Upon reaching the hotel safely, we checked in and went out for lunch.. The hotel receptionist was very warm and friendly.. When she asked me for my credit card, but I passed her my debit instead. She just needs to verify my bank account. When she found out that its not a credit card, she "tsk!!" me for more than 2 times. Then when she needs to cal l the bank to cancel the transaction, she kept using her pen to poke my card when she was reading the card number. Haha.. Some people will say that I am very grumpy, but that isn't how a hotel receptionist should behave..
Anyway, we had lunch at a chicken rice stall, where they serve chicken rice ball.. At first I thought that was the authentic stall, who knows when we walk around, I saw many other chicken rice ball stall or restaurant. After lunch, we started our journey. We began to walk around Malacca Town. Within 1 day, we covered almost the whole of Malacca. Whenever we see good food, we just walk into the shop without much considering. We had popiah, chendol, rojak, fried oyster egg.. We had our dinner and next day lunch at this nonya restaurant. They really serve authentic and yummy. Think I'll bring the campers for dinner there too.. Haha.. End of the month will lead the Church Camp Committee down for recce trip again!! Here are some photos that were taken.

Types of Apple
Jonathan. These dark to bright red apples used to be a baker’s staple because of their juicy tart flavor. They have been showing up more infrequently on supermarket shelves.
Winesap. Again, another kitchen staple of bygone years, this tart, winey red apple was great for cooking, but not a choice for baking. It also is harder to find in some regions of the country.
Rome. This apple has come to replace the Jonathan and Winesap as a great all-purpose baking and cooking apple. But, this apple is beginning to be difficult to find.
Red Delicious. This apple is a standard in most American households. It is thought to have originated as a chance seeding on a farm in Peru, Iowa, and was originally called Hawkeye when it was introduced to the public in 1874. It is bright red, crunchy, with a mildly sweet flavor. It can be used in salads and for snacking, and is available all year long.
Golden Delicious. Originating in Clay County, West Virginia in 1914, the Golden Delicious apple was most likely another chance seedling from Golden Reinette and Grimes Golden strains. This apple is the workhorse of the apple family. Mellow and sweet, these apples are great for everything: eating out of hand, salads, pies, sauce, and baking. Golden Delicious are also available year round, but also freeze well.
Granny Smith. Originating in Australia in 1868, this apple is said to have been cultivated by a grandmother named Maria Ann Smith, who created the variety from French crab apples. These big, bright green, extremely tart apples are versatile fruits that are great for pies, salad, sauce, baking, freezing, and sauteeing. They are available year round.
Braeburn. Discovered in New Zealand as another chance seedling from Lady Hamilton and Granny Smith strains, this apple was first introduced in 1952. It’s color ranges from orange to red, against a yellow background. Sweet, juicy, and crisp, Braeburns are very firm and used for snaking, baking, pies, and sauce. They are also good to freeze. These apples are available from the fall through mid summer.
Fuji. These apples originated in Japan as a cross of Red Delicious and Ralls Janet. They were first introduced in 1962 and are now grown in the US. In fact, America produces more Fuji apples than Japan does each year. These big, extra-sweet apples hold their texture during baking and make a lovely presentation in Baked Apples. They are good for salads, pies, and cooked apples where you want to keep the apple slices firm. These apples also freeze well and are available from October to August.
Gala. This apple hit the market in 1965. Like the Braeburn, it is from New Zealand, and is a cross of Cox’s Orange Pippin and Golden Delicious. Galas have pinkish-orange stipes over a yellow background. They smell wonderful and have a sweet flavor, and are great for snaking and salads. These apples are available September to May.
Jonagold. This new variety, first introduced in 1968, is a cross of Golden Delicious and Jonathon. It was developed by apple breeders in New York. Orange-tinted, this apple is tangy-sweet and is excellent for eating out of the hand, cooking, pies, baking, and freezing. It is available September through April.
Pink Lady. Another cross from Australia, this apple blends Golden Delicious and Lady Williams strains, producing a firm, tangy-tart, yet sweet apple. Pink Lady apples are great for everything. Bearing a pink blush, these apples are available November to August.
Cameo. This is one of the newest apples that you will find readily in your grocer’s fruit section. Introduced in 1987, it is a chance seedling found in Washington State. It is a sweet, zingy tart apple that is a long-keeper. Holding its texture, it is a great all-purpose apple that freezes well. Known for the white spots on its skin, the Cameo apple is available October to August.
Other than all these, there is also an apple called McIntosh Apple. Haha. Its not the Mac Apple that sells Ipod or Mac Book. But there is really such an apple. There are still many other applesavailable. Wonder if I will ever get a chance to try all the different apples. Haha...

Final Stage to clear
WOO HOO!! All my worry and stress is finally over.. Its not failing that worries me. But its the long waiting for the retest if I fail that stresses me. Having to wait for another 3 - 4 months is just time wasting.. Cleared the Basic and Final Theory Test with 1 try.. Now its just left with the practical test. Hope that I can clear it with 1 attempt too..
This week's BS is very challenging. I'm remind that God is patient and gracious.. No matter how many times Moses rejected God when God ask him to go to the Israelites, God did not flare up with him. But this doesn't mean that we can negotiate with God. We're never in the position to negotiate with God. We were once sinners, God's enemies. But its the death of Jesus, that we can now be right with God and be included in the kingdom that is to come.
I was also reminded that it is never how good we are. Not the good things that we have done. Not how skillful we are. It is also not how unworthy we are, how lousy we are. But ultimately, its who God is. God is the ultimate, He is the Alpha and the Omega. In Exodus 3, when Moses rejected God by asking what should he say if the Israelites ask for God's name. God answered Moses, "I AM who I AM. God is unchanging. He is who He is.. He is the same God of OT and NT. He will always be faithful..

searching.. waiting.. but for what?
Last Thursday, I took leave to go to Ubin with Tua Tior, Bea, James, Justin and Charissa. We went there to look for durians.. Haha.. Set off at about 9am. Had breakfast @ Changi Village. We went there not knowing what to expect. Where to find the durians.. I just blindly went into the vegetation, waited.. and suddenly, 1 durian fell from the tree. I manage to see where it fell. Quickly ran there to collect my prize. After the 1st durian, the 2nd, 3rd and many more came much easier. But still need to go into the vegetations and feed mosquitoes. Found 12 durians in the end.
Finally manage to pass the clothes I bought for Elliot and Sharona to them. Andrew went to Perth, so I asked him to help me bring them over. When Andrew past them their clothes, he asked Elliot if he has anything for Kor Kor Richmond. He quickly ran to take a photo that he took with his teacher and wrote his name behind. Elliot is sooo cute! Andrew says that he is still about the same height but talks a lot now. Can't wait to see him!

Met up with Keith after work today.. Finally tied down the loose end of church camp. Camp committee is finally formed and confirmed. Just 6 people all together.. Looking forward to our mini recce. Just me, Keith and Andrew.. Just feel more a peace of mind if I can go down to have a feel of everything beforehand. Haha..
F.I.R is in town.. They are some Taiwanese band coming down to promote their coming concert in August.. Nothing much to say about them. So I just uploaded some photos that I took during the press conference. Something funny about the conference. When Faye was signing the poster. She wrote the wrong date. Thank You Lord...
Had a tiring day today.. Don't know why, but my shocking and scary "woman screaming" alarm kinda lost its ability to shock and scare me out of bed. Nowadays I'll just end up waking up late. I think its time to look for more shocking and scary alarm tone.
Today in office, I received a complain phone call from a very angry subscriber. He called and complained that his set has not been working for a month, and he had made arrangement with our side. But till now, no one has gone down to take a look. As a responsible and dedicated worker, I promised him that I'll drop by his residence at 9.30pm, even though I planned to go back to rest.
Left office earlier to run errands. Went down to 1 of the Cantonese Clan to deliver the Lee Tai Sor collectible CD set.. The place was soooo difficult to find LA!! Haha.. I walked for more than 20 minutes before reaching the clan. The clan was located beside a shop selling clothes, along New Bridge Road. Its quite nice to see the old people inside. 4 of them playing Mahjong, another sitting at the counter, expecting me..
After collecting the payment, I headed to Sim Lim Square to buy CD-R and ink cartridges. I've been coming to SLS so often that I can remember where which shop is located. Haha. That really saves me time walking around to look for the shop as most of them looks pretty similar. I was rather angry with 1 of the shop. I was looking for a HP ink, and was walking around comparing prices. There was this shop that offered me $32 for a black ink, when others are offering me $22-$26. That's almost $10 more LA!! Want to earn money also not like that right?!!
After I am done with my errands, I rushed down to Heartland Mall to meet up with Pastor. Had dinner at the Jap/Korean Fushion Restaurant. Can't remember what is the name. After dinner, we met Johnson and Charis. They went there to send Justin for violin lesson.
After dinner, I went straight home to rest. Reached home about 8.30pm.. First thing I did was lied on the floor and stone. Haha.. Think that has become my favourite past time at home. I was so tired and it was so comfortable that I fell asleep. At first I planned to leave house at 9.15pm to cycle to his place. But in the end I woke up at 9.40pm. I quickly got up and change and rush to his place.
When I reached, his wife opened the door for me. She didn't look or sound that fierce.. While trying out the receiver set, her husband, the one who called this morning walked towards me. Haha.. He didn't sound that bad like this morning.. Maybe he is touched by my heart-warm service. Hahaha.. In the end I concluded that the receiver is faulty. Made another promise to him that I'll drop by tmr evening again, with a working set. After everything, we still chatted at the door step for about 10 minutes.. I really hope that everything will be fine when I bring down a new set tomorrow =)
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Today only me, Andrew, Dot and Dom came.. Today's performance is super lousy.. Don't know what is wrong with bowling technique. It just doesn't feel right. Half way through the game, Chong and Amy came..
Meeting Pastor for dinner tomorrow. It has been a while since we last catch up. Really looking forward for tomorrow's dinner.. Got to work through the weekend this week. Will be busy at AMK Hub for the relaunch.. Won't be able to meet up with the consistory to show them the church camp budget. Alright, got to spend sometime preparing the Church Camp budget.. That's it for today...

1st Turkey at Pasir Ris
After the operation, I headed down to Pasir Ris Bowl.. It was super crowded, but I still manage to bowl.. Didn't bowl for 2 weeks and I went crazy that I played 6 games in total.. Manage to get my 1st turkey in Pasir Ris, making a record of having 1 turkey in every place that I've bowled. Haha.. Average pinfall for the 6 games is 146.. I am all ready to challenge Andrew.
Talking about Andrew. I didn't know that he was back yesterday. After bowling, I smsed him. Then in the end he didn't reply my msg, but he called me back! Haha.. Didn't know that he was on leave, if not I would have ask him to join me.
Went to watch 'Get Smart' with godma.. Like I've mention, she is a bit stress lately. So I wanted to ask her out to watch a comedy to laugh away her trouble and worries. Even though I am watching in the 2nd time, the jokes are really so funny that I laughed as crazily as I did for the 1st.
After movie, we went for dinner the the BBQ Chicken restaurant in Downtown East E-Hub. I ordered the Jerk BBQ and godma ordered the Korean Charbroiled . The food was not bad.. What I found interesting was the place that we sat. We sat on the pink sofa.. It gave me this home feeling. That I took of my slippers and put folded my legs on the sofa. The sofa was so pink that I think Ray will faint when he sees it. Haha..
Idiot Wai!!
But coincidently, he called me last night.. Just when I need someone real close to talk to. Then when he called, my callerID showed "Unknown". Then when I answered the phone, the first thing he said was,"Hello, may I speak to Corporal Tan please?"
He scared the faeces out of me ah.. I tot I my officer really calling me back for reservist! I don't want reservist!! Haha.. But what was weird is that the called sounded like Wai.. Haha..
And it was him. Had a nice chat with him and maria.. really miss them so much.. Haiz.. Talk half way, his card's credit gone low and so was my battery. Got to end the conversation so abruptly. Anyway he promised to call again on Sunday.. Looking forward to his call.. =)
boring day..
Gonna spend the next hour or so performing surgery on my PC. Has been down for quite a while. Think I should finally try to fix and and stop my mum's nagging. Haha.. Its my fault too, she has been nagging me for almost a year? Haha.. At first is can't reformat. Then found out that the hard disk is corrupted. Now finally bought a hard disk, but have been sitting on it for a few months. Just no motivation to unscrew the whole CPU to fix in the new hard disk.
Godma has been a little moody lately. Trying to ask her out for dinner and a comedy tonight. Still trying to fix a good location and timing.. Alright, time to finish my Asahi and prepare for my surgery.. If the operation is successful, think I might do down to Downtown East to bowl! Haha.. Spain vs Russia tonight.. Go España!! Go El Nino!!
