Stage 1 Completed...

Something scary happened to me on Wednesday. Just before Bible Studies. I was there early, at Bishan J8, having dinner my own. After dinner, I started walking around. Then I came to this Sony shop, with a small poster, yet the poster caught my attention. They were selling the SE P1i at 600+, and there are plans for 0% installment. I only need to pay $50 a month, for a year, to get the phone.

I was super tempted by the 0% interest promotion that I almost bought it. It was soooooooo close. Lucky the HTC Touch saved me. Haha.. I saw the HTC Touch Dual, and I turned my attention to it instead. Haha.. It was rather pricy though. So it knocked into my head that I should wait for my contract to expire and wait for the vouchers to come, then I'll see what new phones there are in the market. LOL

--------------------------------------------

Today is a big day for me.. A day that I've waiting since March. Haha.. Having my Basic Theory Test today, at 4.30pm. Woke up at 9.30am today. Took leave to do the test and also to go for the Adidas Warehouse Sales. Today is the first day of the sales, and the sales only open from 11am - 7pm. Don't wanna miss the good deals, I went to Expo at 11am. I thought I was already very early, but who knows that when I'm there, many people were already inside shopping, some even queuing to pay!! I went there wanting to get a new pair of scandals, but ALL THE SCANDALS WERE ALREADY GONE!! =( In the end, I bought towels, socks, a jacket, a track pants, a baby shoe for Declan. Spent about $160 ++. Haiz.. There goes my savings for May. Haha..

Finally.. I've passed my Basic Theory. Stage 1 of my mission to get a driving license was completed. Always wanted to go take get a driving license. But its either I'm too busy, if not I'm too lazy as the CDC is too out of the way for me (or its just me being lazy, haha). Well anyway, manage to passed my Basic Theory is the first attempt. Phew.. I can't imagine if I fail. I'm taking the test as a private student. So if I fail, I'll have to wait for months before I can retake. By then, my enthu will be gone, then the whole car license thing will drag again.

I didn't go for the E-Trial, as the date falls on gong gong's wake. So I went to the CDC without knowing what will happen and what to expect. When I was outside the room, waiting for the test start. People were busy reading the Basic Theory Book, doing some last minute preparation. Only me and few were there standing doing nothing. Seeing the others so engrossed, I started to panic. Thinking that if I fail, it would be such a disgrace.

When the test start, everything was much better. I kind of know how everything is done. All the waiting have also ended. Now is just me, my knowledge and the screen. Things didn't started well.

I got stuck with the first question. The first question was about parking/stopping distance from the junction. I was like, "OH NO!! I FORGOTTEN". All I remembered was there is parking/stopping distance from junction and bus stop. 1 is 6 and the other is 9. But I can't remember which is which. Good thing was I am smart. Haha.. I skipped the first question. Thank God that 1 of the later question asked about the distance from the bus stop, and the options has 9 and without in it. So it also cleared my doubt that distance from bus stop is 9 and junction is 6.

Finished the test is less than 15 minutes. It was so scary la!! When I made sure that all the questions were answered, I looked at the "END TEST" button. By clicking the button, in less than 3 secs, I will get to know my result. PHEW! Thank God that the word "PASSED" appeared on the screen.. If its "FAIL" I will have a super sad weekend man!

After printing my result, I went to apply for Provisional Driving License and Advance Theory Test. I also managed to contact the private driving instructor that Vishnu introduced. He's suppose to get back to me, but till now, he has not. Think I will SMS him tmr again.

--------------------------------------------

Going to SG Flyer tmr!! With Godma and family.. The photo of my blog is of the flyer, finally I can take some photos from the flyer itself. Even though I don't think that the view and scenery will be that awesome, still hope to be able to snap some nice pictures from the flyer. Wait for the next post for the pictures.

Marié Digby - Say It Again

Recommending all to 1 of my favourtie song by Marié Digby

Marié Digby - Say It Again lyrics

The thing about love
Is i never saw it coming
It kinda crept up and took me by surprise
And now there’s a voice inside my heart that’s got me wondering
Is this true, i want to hear it one more time

Move in a little closer
Take it to a whisper
Just a little louder

Say it again for me
Cuz i love the way it feels when you are telling me that i’m
The only one who blows your mind
Say it again for me
It’s like the whole world stops to listen
When you tell me you’re in love
Say it again

Thing about you is you know just how to get me
You talk about us like there’s no end in sight
The thing about me is that i really want to let you
Open that door and walk into my life

Move in a little closer
Take it to a whisper
Just a little louder

Say it again for me
Cuz i love the way it feels when you are telling me that i’m
The only one who blows your mind
Say it again for me
It’s like the whole world stops to listen
When you tell me you’re in love

And it feels like it’s the first time
That anybody's ever brought the sun without the rain
And never in my whole life
Have I heard words as beautiful as when you say my name

Say it again for me
Cuz i love the way it feels when you are telling me that i’m
The only one who blows your mind
Say it again for me
It’s like the whole world stops to listen
When you tell me you’re in love
Say it again (x9)

When you tell me you’re in love…
Say it again

Ohhh...Ohhhhhh

why gather?

In OT, when people come to worship God once a year, only the high priest was allowed to enter the Holy of Holiest, and that was after all the necessary cleansing and sacrifices. All the special criteria must be met. Even then, his entrance was one full of fear and trembling. There were bells and robe attached to the garment of the high priest. This was to let the other priests know if he was still alive. If the high priest die, no one was allowed to enter the Holy of Holiest. They will have to pull him out from outside.

But now! We can have direct access to God, by the blood of Jesus. The separating curtain was already torn into two, opening the way of entrance to all men. Jesus's sacrifice is complete, his blood is sufficient! Through his death, now we can have direct access to God. We can have a relationship to God. We can pray to God. We can draw near to God. Its by His blood that we can now enjoy all this privileges. So make full use of this privileges!! Meet up with one another. Pray to God. Draw near to God!

When we gather, its not about us. Its about others. How we can encourage others, spur them on, and in return, we will also be encouraged and spurred on. We need to love one another, provoke one another to do right. All we do, even our ministry must be motivated by our love for one another. Hang on Brothers and Sisters!! Let's help one another to reach our common goal to Heaven.. Amen!

All God's testing has a purpose.
Someday you will see His light.
All He asks is that you trust in Him,
walk by faith and not by sight.

Turtle vs Tortoise

Awesome la.. This morning was my first time to Chinese Garden. Didn't know that there is a "Live Turtle & Tortoise Museum" inside. Think not many people know about it too. The museum holds a collection of the worlds rarest turtles and tortoises. The museum also hold a "Guinness World Records" award. It holds the record of having 3,456 turtles and tortoises, which include 1,000 live specimens. From this trip, now I can really tell the difference between a turtle and tortoise!!! I feel so malu.. Haha.. Turtles can swim and tortoise can't!!

Anyway, the museum is inside Chinese Garden. Opens everyday from 9am to 6pm. Think you will need to pay a small entrance fee to get into the museum. Here is the link to the official website.. The Live Turtle & Tortoise Museum

OH NO!! THIS IS ADDICTIVE!!

Hanging On...

Can you guess what this is?
Scroll to last pix of this post to find out..

Haha.. I can't believe I'm still blogging.. Ok, this won't take long. Just did a face to face interview with Marié Digby. Her name is pronounce as Ma-ree-ay Dig-bee, not Ma-ree. Many people ignore the thunder sign above the letter e. Don't think it is common to many. It's called the acute accent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acute_accent

Coming 2nd half of 2008 will be a busy and interesting half. Ray's wedding, relaunch of Rediffusion, more press conferences to attend, BKK Trip, Project Timothy, Larkhill, Church Camp Recci and Church Camp. So many things to look forward to. Really pray for good health
and time management.

Had Bible Studies today at Lit and Jas's place. As usual, me and Ben are the first 2, so we get to
play with Jaeden. We were trying to test him on body parts and the sound that different animals make. When we pointed at his tummy, cute Jaeden pondered for a while, and shouted with excitment, "THOMAS THE TRAIN!" Haha.. We got to lift up his shirt to poke his tummy and teach him that it is his tummy. So I guess now he knows where his tummy is.. Tried to take a photo of him, but he kept moving about. So didn't manage to. Ended up showing him Samantha's photo, and he asked, "What is Sammy?" Haha.. So I video call Carlsen and 3G with him and Sammy.

Jaeden busy showing us his planes and buses

Beautiful Samantha (Sammi)

It was Lit's birthday last Sunday.. So Jasmine prepared a belated Birthday Celebration for him with the Wednesday Cellgroup. She baked us a cheese cake. Its super cheesy and yummy. Think from now on, whenever there is someone's birthday, we just trouble Jasmine to use her 500 cakes, cake book to bake yummy cakes for us. (Jasmine, don't get angry when you read this) Haha..

Biggest Decision in Life..

Haiz.. Everything thing also need money. Haha.. Few weeks ago.. Me, Jenny and Dom was making plans for a holiday trip this coming July to BKK. Plans are quite already solid, so chances of going is quite high. Was busy think of church camp, then realize that there are quite a few things to attend this year. There will be Project Timothy, Lark Hill Camp, BKK holiday, Church Camp Recce and Church Camp.. ALL NEED $$$... Of all the 5, the recce and Church Camp is a must go.. So I got to decide on the other 3. If I were to attend all, think it will cost around or more than $1.5k.. I don't think I will have so much time and energy to go for all too.. Really need God's guidance in this..

Finally, completed Sermon of the Mount today.. Today's teaching really hit me hard.. All of us once had a relationship with God. When we chose to sin and rebel against God, it broke our relationship with Him. Cos God is loving, He gave us Christ as the ultimate solution. His death and resurrection paid our penalty of death. But even now as Kingdom people, we are to continue to stay focus, to continue to walk the narrow road and not give up. I've learnt that we all have a choice to make, narrow gate or wide gate, good tree that bears good fruit or bad tree that bears bad fruit, do God's will or be evildoers, build house on rock or build on sand. And the decision we make comes with great consequences. It will be the most important decision for us to make. Its LIFE AND DEATH.. We just can grasp hold of our serious it is. Life and Death are just words to us.. Whatever it is, even if we fall, we must not give up.. God will never give us up, it's will we give up on God. In James 1, we are called to persevere and will receive the crown of life that God has promised us. So hang on there brothers and sisters.. Continue to show love to one another, to encourage one another, to stay focus in Christ, place Him in the center of everything..

130 and above..

Today is Tuesday!! Official Bowling Day!! 2nd consecutive week, my average pinfall is 130 and above. Today's score was 132, 144, 143, 107.. so average 131.5.. Before Andrew left for Aus.. my average was only 120.. promised him I will play every week and train to be better. Haha.. Hope to maintain my form.. So I can win him when he comes back..

Went to Pulau Ubin with the youth last Saturday.. Cycled around, climb up the quarry, walked the boardwalk.. Super tiring.. Worst thing was I almost died there.. There was this part where there was a super steep slope, about 50m.. I cycled down the first 15m, but skidded down the next 20.. The whole bike when sidewards!! Thank God I didn't lose control of the bike, if not I will probably be in hospital now..

Super stress at work and planning for church camp.. For work, workload is increasing. Now I got to handle the promotion side as well.. Got to attend more press conferences..Interviewed Chen Chu Hui (famous Teochew Opera Singer) and Jolin Tsai last week. This week, went for a press screening for the Thai movie "Chocolate". This Thursday got its press conference. Friday got another press conference for the singer Marie Digby and her live showcase in the evening. Busy is one thing, thankful that I am actually okay and kinda enjoy the press conference. Maybe cos can leave office earlier and also able to meet other people to broaden my network, exchanging name cards.. Haha..

Last week, on my way back after running errands at Sim Lim Square.. Came across this shop that sells mini dough nuts. So mini that I can finish it in 2 mouths. Think the shop name is Sprinkle. They have like 20 over flavours.. Wanted to take a pix of all the flavours, but forgotten to.. Only manage to take a pix of what is left after I realize that I haven't take the pix..

dough nuts from Sprinkle

Church camp.. Finally decided the venue. Now its just left with the signing of the contract and the preparation of the church camp budget to present to the consistory. Heard from Pastor that this year, the consistory will give me a budget to play around with, rather than me presenting to them the budget then get their approval. Really pray for God's guidance and wisdom, be it at work or in church..

Had 2 interns in office.. Glad that they came on board. Now more people to lighten our workload. Thankful that they are both Christians.. Shared with them a bit about church history and how the gospel is preached in their church. Both of their pastor preach what they feel like preaching. I am not saying that it is wrong. But I feel that the gospel and bible is one whole thing. And we shouldn't cut it into chunks.. In that way, we can see the context and whole big picture clearer. Pray that Christians out there can really discern the distorted gospel with the true gospel.. Like in Matthew 7: 15-23, how God warns us about false prophets. Also pray for myself, that the way I behave in office and outside, will show Christ living in me.. AMEN!
